About Us
The Community Arts Advisory Council was founded in 1986 by area artists interested in bringing a greater quality and quantity of arts to San Diego and it's East County communities. An emphasis was placed on arts education and affordability for all residents. Since our inception, hundreds of students have participated in classes of dance, music, drama, and the visual arts. Residents have enjoyed numerous stage productions. Many of our students have moved on to professional careers in the arts with many more developing a lifelong appreciation of how the arts enrich their lives.
The CAAC is currently housed at the Dance Express studios in El Cajon, CA. We offer classes in dance, an annual "Nutcracker" performance, our SummerArts Camp for children, community visual art projects, and performances throughout San Diego. We currently serve the communities of San Diego, El Cajon, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, Santee, Lakeside, Alpine, and Jamul.
