Our History

The Community Arts Advisory Council opened its first community center in Lemon Grove, CA in 1989. The facility was known as the L.G. Arts Complex and was a very vibrant part of the community until 1997.

Since that time hundreds of students have participated in classes in dance, music, drama, and the visual arts. Residents have enjoyed numerous stage productions including our annual "Nutcracker" ballet. Many of our students have moved on to professional careers in the arts with many more developing a lifelong appreciation of how the arts enrich their lives.

The following is a look into some of our programs, the people involved, and what the CAAC has accomplished. It is impossible to tell the whole story of the lives that have been affected. Many children grew up with us and many lives were touched.

Copies of the archive articles are available upon request. We know they are impossible to read in this format, but they give an overview of the types of activities which were then (and still are) offered by our organization.
