Class Descriptions

Class Levels

Pre Ballet - Children begin to learn the basic concepts of ballet through simple exercises designed to develop their large and small motor skills. Classroom behavior, interaction with other children, and the enjoyment of movement are emphasized.
Ballet I - Basic ballet steps and terminology are learned in a structured class including a strengthening warm-up, ballet barre and center work. Performance concepts are introduced.
Ballet II-III - Continues and expands on what the student has learned in Ballet I with continuing emphasis on proper execution of steps and body alignment. More difficult concepts are introduced in turning, jumping, and adagio (slow, sustained movement). Corps work in performance is introduced.
Ballet IV-V - Expands on levels of difficulty in combinations of steps and proper execution. Performing qualities are emphasized along with understanding and grasping choreography quickly. Expanded performance opportunities are available in soloist and semi-soloist rolls.
